What time does customer service close at Walmart 2024?

Walmart’s customer service hours can vary by location, so it’s best to check with your specific Walmart store for their customer service hours of operation. However, many Walmart stores typically offer customer service during regular store hours, which can vary depending on whether the store is open 24 hours, closes late in the evening, or has reduced hours.

You can find the customer service desk or counter near the front of the store, and they can assist with various inquiries, including returns, exchanges, product information, and general assistance. Suppose you need clarification about the customer service hours at your local Walmart. In that case, you can visit the Walmart website or contact the store directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

As a former employee of Walmart, I should answer this question again due to so many of you asking for my answer. The Walmart I worked at is not a 24-hour store like the majority of all the other Walmart stores. With that being said, the customer service desk is open from 8 am to 10 pm CST. I have looked up other stores in my area, and the two closest Walmart stores are both open 24 hours a day and have the same customer service desk hours as those I mentioned above.

What time does customer service open and close at Walmart?

It differs by store. I now work at Sam’s Club, but the Walmart across the parking lot from my store has 24-hour customer service. Check the Google info page by googling “Walmart,” and then select the store you are going to, and then store hours. If the information for customer service specifically is not available, then call ahead to whichever store you are going to return merchandise to.

What time does Walmart customer service close?

Walmart customer service center closes at 10 pm. However, customer service is employed by every associate 24 hours a day,7 days a week, 364 days a year.

What time does the customer service desk close at Walmart?

At Walmart superstore, they usually close at 8:00 pm or 10:00 pm, depending on the day and exact location. Walmart neighborhood stores usually close at 6:00 pm or 8:00 pm, depending on the day and exact location.

Walmart Return Hours: Between 8 am and 10 pm seven days a week, including holidays

Walmart Pharmacy Hours: Monday to Saturday, they open at 9 am, while on Sunday, they open one hour later, at 10 am

As for Christmas Eve, Walmart stores close at 6 pm.

Why does Walmart have the worst customer service?

So here is the deal: the more cashiers you have, the more breaks you have to give out and the more hours you have on the front end. Also, if you have 8 registers running and you hit a slow gap in time, you are paying them to stand and do nothing.

I can’t speak for other stores, but we have enough people to run 8 registers until 10 pm. We get complaints because cashiers dont register the stock, help ing departments, and other crap. So, that is usually why there are “not enough cashiers.”

Now Walmart is hiring all these college kids who want the weekend off, which causes more understaffing.

Lastly, QUIT COMPLAINING TO THE CASHIER. THEY HAVE ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH AND COMPLAINING TO THEM WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. THEY ARE NOT IN CONTROL.

Why does Walmart have the worst customer service?

There is always a certain amount of hours to give out, as others have mentioned. Call-ins. Plus, is your local Wal-Mart always hiring? 10 to 1 says yes, check what they are hiring for again. 10 to 1 says CASHIERS. The good ones leave because they find something better or get sick and tired of being SHIT ON.

Why does Walmart have the worst customer service?

Cashiers get paychecks. The fewer you have, the less overhead the greater profit.

Many low-service stores cut back cashiers to the absolutely minimum, only opening another register if the lines are so long that customers are getting frustrated. It’s certainly typical behavior in supermarkets and home improvement stores.

Stores like Walmart know that much of their clientele will come for the low prices no matter how unpleasant the shopping experience is.

What time does customer service close at Walmart?

That greatly depends on your local store.

In MOST stores, the hours that the service desk is open are 8 am to 10 pm (according to the time zone the store is located in).

That being said, if you want to be sure, you can call your local Walmart store and ask. Anybody working in the store should be able to tell you or at least know who to ask to find out when they open/close.

What is learned from Walmart’s customer service?

Lessons from Wals customer service staff:

We are working as quickly as we can to provide all customers with the most superior service in the industry.

We will never swear at you ever; please don’t swear at us when we can’t go against company policy. Ask for a supervisor. Remember, it’s company policy, so that you might get the same answer from the supervisor.

Because we are treated like dirt all shift long, our smiles and patience are limited; thank you anyway.

Why is Walmart’s customer service so nice, given all the angry customers they have to deal with?

Why should we treat all customers badly because a small percentage decide to be jerks?

99% or more of customers are perfectly polite, and most of the ones that aren’t had a bad day for whatever reason, so there’s no reason not to be nice.

What has happened to Walmart’s customer service?

They’re still there, and they are doing a good job.

I am disabled and incontinent, and for a while, every other time I tried to use the handicapped bathroom, it was occupied by an employee using it as her spot. When I finally got done, I would go to customer service and report it to a supervisor, along with a description of the violator. After 4 or 5 times of doing this, they no longer use it.

Where is customer service at Walmart?

It is in the front of the store and marked SERVICES. IN THE STORE I work in, we have a separate Money Center for sending and receiving funds transferred, Wal-Mart to Wal-Mart transfers, purchase money orders, and any other financial transaction.

Hiding. Walmart employees learn pretty quickly that unless you are manning a till, the best thing to do is stay the hell away from the Walmartians who wander the store. If you do your job and keep your section stocked and clean, you are okay, but customer complaints can cost you your job, so it’s better to avoid customers.

Is customer service improving or staying the same at Walmart?

Madeline, every Walmart is different. Store managers and customer service managers can vary greatly in their approach to customer service, but they all want to provide a quality experience. Some stores are amazing, and their people go out of their way to greet, thank, and help every customer they see. In other stores, you have people who treat you like you are an inconvenience, and the last thing they want to do is help you.

The company at a corporate level is all about the customers, and the policies they have make that very clear. So, if management is on board and corporate is making the right rules, what’s happening? This is my own opinion and does not reflect Walmart in any way. It comes down to hiring; too many times in the past, managers have taken someone just because they showed up on time and breathing. If the person who is interviewing for the job is not friendly, smiling, and eager with you, the person who can give them a job, then I promise they will not be with the customers either. If you want someone high energy and upbeat, you have to look for that person in the interview.

What is your experience with customer service at Walmart?

I can answer this question, but only from the other side of the desk. I worked at Walmart from 1997–2006. Walmart has a very well-defined set of policies and procedures for its service desk associates to follow. Our regular customers know that if they raise hell and demand a manager, the manager will give the customer anything to stop the confrontation. This leaves the associate looking like an idiot and leaves the customer looking like a spoiled brat.

During my time at the service desk, I’ve had customers try to return an appliance box full of patio pavers, customers who tried to pay with counterfeit bills made on a color copier, and customers who paid with money they dug out of their sweaty brassiere. I’ve seen the very worst of human nature, and I now think people are evil.

Here is what nobody tells you. When you rip off Walmart, Walmart does not absorb the loss. The money comes out of the employee profit-sharing fund. That means you aren’t stealing from a wealthy company; you’re stealing from minimum-wage employees.

What is your experience with customer service at Walmart?

I drive by a Wal-Mart every time I do my shopping at Target. It’s slightly more expensive but worth it. That’s a good indication of my customer service experience at Wal-Mart.

The thing is, it wasn’t even this Wal-Mart that pissed me off. It was years ago at a Wal-Mart five states away.

I’d always disliked that place. I remember when the first one opened in my hometown in the late ’80s and how everyone was so excited about it. Then, throughout the ’90s, everyone started hating it. It put the mall across the street out of business. It always needed to be more organized. Always dirty. Always had long lines at the checkout.

My father hated it, too. Unfortunately, by the time I was in middle school, there really wasn’t another local shopping option. Our choices were Wal-Mart or a 30-mile drive to the nearest Target. I have very fond memories of taking family trips to Wal-Mart. We’d all get into the car to go there, and my father and I would sit in the cafeteria area they had there while my mother and sister did the shopping. We couldn’t stand walking around that place.

In retrospect, I don’t know why we came along. Actually, I do know why… my father liked to “people watch,” as he called it. We’d each get a soda and sit there and watch the people walk by while the women shopped.

The final straw for me and Wal-Mart happened many years later. I was an adult living in Chicago with a family of my own, and I had to fly back to my hometown for an emergency. I landed at about 11 pm, and I stopped at Wal-Mart (the only open place) before heading to my parents’ house for the night. I needed an air mattress. I was staying with them, but they didn’t have a spare bed.

No big deal, I thought. I’ll get an air mattress on my way.

It took me ten minutes to drive to Wal-Mart from the airport, five minutes to find the air mattress I needed, and over 30 minutes to get someone to take my money for it. Yes, it was the middle of the night, but that’s not an excuse for having a checkout line take that long. They had one cashier, but she needed to be more proficient. A lot of the other customers just dropped their stuff where they stood and walked out of the store, but I couldn’t. I needed something upon which to sleep that night.

I made a vow at that moment to never shop there again. So far, I’ve managed to keep that vow.

What is your experience with customer service at Walmart?

When I can find an employee there, I don’t have a problem.

What usually happens with me is when I pull into the parking lot at Walmart, my miniature dachshund will go to her pillow and lie down. She despises Walmart.

Sometimes, I’ll invite her to come along with me, but she’ll just lay there and give me the stink eye.

Her attitude towards Walmart has nothing to do with the employees there. When I used to take her inside, every one of them was friendly to her.

It’s many of the customers she does not like. I use the mart carts and have her ride in my lap. There were times I felt her getting agitated. I’d look around and see a customer giving us a hateful look.

Why someone would find a tall, semi-disabled older man with a cane and a tiny dog in his lap highly offensive is beyond my comprehension. After a few times of this, she started to refuse to go in with me completely.

Why is the customer service line so long at Walmart?

Many different types of transactions are being done. Some things take time. MoneygramTransactions can take 10 to 15 minutes for each one. Bill payments are about 5 minutes per bill, but if a person is paying 5 bills, more time. You have to be patient.

Can you give me an example of Walmart’s customer service?

I am disabled and need to use their family bathroom. There was a time I had to go, and the room was occupied. Waited and observed an employee using it as her private room. Complained to CS, and she said she’d mention it at the next staff meeting. Happened 2 more times, and I complained again, along with a description of the offender. It finally stopped.

Does Walmart Customer Service have a difficult job compared to the floor work?

It’s only as difficult as the latest foolishness from a customer is.

Customer service managers are basically the supervisors of customer service and the cashiers. So we handled a lot of customer service-related things at all hours.

I have many favorite incidents as a customer service manager, but my favorite always includes the moments where I denied people trying to abuse coupons. At Walmart, there can be leniency in the use of coupons (they might be able to be used within the same week when they expire sometimes, or occasionally used on an item that isn’t quite the intended one, depending on the wording, etc…..) But when people outright try to abuse coupons, there is nothing more enjoyable than telling them no.

For example, I had a woman come in late one night. She had called first, checking on a clearance-priced TV that we miraculously had one of in stock. We’re talking under $300 on a 60″ UHD smart TV a few years back. So we were chatting while she began to check out – then she whips out her book of coupons. By the book, I mean the giant file that I would have stored CDs in a lifetime ago when carrying all of them around was still a thing. She starts flipping through, finding stacks of identical coupons. She stacks up all these pantiliners and trial-sized shampoo/conditioner bottles (roughly 20 of each) on my tiny counter (we were checking out at the further register from the door, as the floor was being waxed in my usual space).

Knowing how this story goes, as soon as she hands me a coupon, I start reading the fine print. It is not valid for trial/travel size. It’s not valid on 20 counts or less. So on and so forth. I politely declined, telling her the coupons were not valid on the items she had in front of me. She argued. I went into more detail. She still wouldn’t listen. She demanded to see a manager!

At this point, six people were waiting in line behind her. And the assistant manager was actually standing next to me the whole time, holding onto the TV in case anybody got ideas.

He told her I was right. She huffed and puffed, told me angrily she wasn’t going to get the other items anymore, paid for her TV, and left.

As an overnight CSM, I frequently dealt with people who were upset that we were not accepting returns at night. People who were upset that alcohol was cut off after 2 am. Or that their paycheck would need to be clearer because the company printing it needed to line up their paper properly. Or because we dared to block the easy way out when waxing the floors. Or because we watched them when they hung a dozen articles of clothing over the edge of their cart and acted like a stereotypical shoplifter.

I once stopped two teenage girls from shoplifting a pack of Doritos and a pack of Cheetos Puffs (or something similar). Another time, the other CSM was guarding the door against a woman who was so drunk she was FURIOUS that she had been watched and decided to flash the 70-something CSM her bare chest for who-only-knows what reason.

I had a drunk man get aggressive when we declined to cash his check on a month-expired license. I told him to have a wonderful night, and he turned around, stormed back, and stuck his hand in my face to flip me off and say FUCK. YOU.

I had a woman try to return three opened Xbox games with no receipt because they were a ‘gift’ and they didn’t work on the Xbox she had. Then, when offered to exchange the same titles for a different platform, she ‘already had that’ and wanted something else.

A couple, one a male veteran, had received a futon from the website as a gift from someone, as, for whatever reason, he needed it to sleep on. It was horribly uncomfortable, and they wanted to exchange it for a better one. I did what was right, escalated to a manager when they wouldn’t accept no, and they did eventually get what they wanted, which I was then scolded for over allowing the (newer) manager to do it.

In comparison, as an overnight stocker, the worst I had to deal with was people asking me where to get something on the other side of the store.

Why doesn’t Walmart have customer service reps walking the aisles assisting customers?

Not a good idea.

They came with the intention to buy and usually with a specific item in mind.

Left to themselves, they’ll find it sooner or later and buy other stuff they found while they were looking.

Take them straight to what they want, and that’s all they’ll buy. It’s better to make them wander around and look at everything else.

I’ve noticed if I ask an assistant where something is, I’m often told, “Oh, it might be in …. or in ….” and I wonder if that’s deliberate.

Can you cash a certified cashier’s bank check at Walmart/?

I just attempted to cash a few days ago, typed cashier’s check for $125.00 issued to me/with my name typed on it, as it appears on my driver’s license @ Walmart in Burbank, California, and was told that they do not cash cashier’s! I was upset as they did not even examine the check!! I told her the check says it’s guaranteed by money gram! (As there was a huge; ‘cash your money gram Here’ sign right behind her :/ !!) That is the Bank, in my case, a credit Union Bank that uses MoneyGram bank to issue and help others verify the cashier checks having been paid for with cash is 100% legitimate. But she said that’s not the case. I asked for a manager, and the manager said they only cash MoneyGram transfers that people send, not MoneyGrams issued by Bank, which seems ridiculous to me, but yeah, I thought they would have no problem cashing a guaranteed cashier’s check; the whole point of a cashier’s check; is the extra level of protection for the person cashing it. They wouldn’t even attempt to cash it!!! (in the past, I had been denied funds after they scanned a payroll check, and the computer said no. I asked to try one more time through the scanner ……BOOM, it approves the check now :/!?? They would not even do that; they said they were not supposed to handle cashier’s checks. Even though online people say they cashed them in Burbank, California, in May 2018, I was told this makes Sense!
