MaxIs the iPhone 12 Pro Max better than the iPhone 12 Pro? Which one should I buy?

All the above and the camera on the Pro Max are fabulous! This is just a screenshot of my photo. I just wanted to show that you can shoot directly into the sun and still get great detail in the shadows. I got it just to get the camera.

What are the differences between the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12?

In 2020, Apple launched the iiPhone 12 with four models: the iiPhone 12, iiPhone 12 mini, iiPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. And now you want to upgrade to the 12 series but are unable to decide whether to purchase the iPhone 12 or 12 Pro. Don’t worry, here I will review both the ones that may help you decide.

Price:

The iPhone 12 costs $799, while the iPhone 12 Pro has a starting price of $999. There is a huge $300 difference; are the features of the iPhone 12 Pro worth $300?

Size and Design:

Both models of the iPhone 12 series have a 6.1-inch display screen with a small notch at the top of the screen and flatter sides. As for the material used in the body, Apple has made the iPhone 12 using aluminum, while the iPhone 12 Pro uses stainless steel.

Apple has launched the iPhone 12 in vibrant colors like white, black, red, green, and blue. While the iPhone 12 Pro comes in more sophisticated colors like silver, graphite, gold, and Pacific blue,

Display:

The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro come with a 6.1-inch screen with a screen resolution of 2532 x 1170 and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. All the models of the iPhone 12 series have an OLED display with Super Retina XDR technology.

Cameras:

The iPhone 12 comes with a dual rear camera, carrying forward the iPhone 11 cameras, including a wide-angle lens and an ultra-wide-angle lens. However, the iPhone 12 has a few new features, like night mode in both the front and back cameras. The iPhone 12 Pro comes with three lenses and the latest LiDAR sensor for better-augmented reality and greater depth sensing for photos and videos. Also, the iPhone 12 Pro comes with many new advanced features that take photography to the next level.

5G:

All the models of the iPhone 12 series support the 5G connectivity feature. Also, all of them have Smart Data Mode, which can automatically switch between 4G and 5G based on your location to save you data and power.

Performance:

All the iPhone 12s have the same processor, i.e., the A14 Bionic processor. When tested, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have nearly identical numbers for GeekBench 5.

Battery Life

Both the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro have a battery life of 12 hours for video streaming. While surfing the website, the iPhone 12 had a battery life of 8 hours and 25 minutes, while the iPhone 12 Pro stayed up for 9 hours and 6 minutes.

Should I buy the iPhone 12 Pro or the iPhone 12 Pro Max?

The iiPhone 12 Pro and iiPhone 12 Pro Max are similar phones, but with several key differences other than screen size. Read on as we walk through all the differences between the iiPhone 12 Pro and the iiPhone 12 Pro Max and which you should buy this holiday season.

In this comparison, we focus specifically on the 6.1-inch iiPhone 12 Pro and the 6.7-inch iiPhone 12 Pro Max. While there are similarities between the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12, we aren’t focusing on those comparisons in this article. Instead, we’re focusing purely on the high-end iiPhone 12 Pro and iiPhone 12 Pro Max similarities and differences

Would you like the iPhone 12 series? Which is better, the Apple iPhone 12 or the 12 Pro?

As much as we’ve all waited for the launch of the iPhone 12 series, I am utterly disappointed by it because of the overpriced devices in the range.

On top of that, Apple might not include a charger inside the box this time. Even the power adapter and earpods might not be there. You may have to buy the fast charger separately in that case.

Which one is a better buy, an iPhone 12, 12 Pro, or 12 Pro Max?

I bought the iiPhone 12 Pro Max because the camera is much better than any of the other models and the battery is larger. I also like the size because it is closer to a mini iPad.

The camera has a larger sensor, and that is evident in my photos. I am surprised as to the quality. I had issues with the 11 Pro, but it seems that the 12 Pro Max resolved those quality issues, such as ultra-wide and ultra-wide being too pixelated. The ultra-wide camera is much better; although the colors in low light can be muted, the videos are at least usable. The zoom I thought was going to be a joke (like on the 11 Pro), but there is an improvement, and going from 2x from the previous model to 2.5x is a decent jump in reach.

What are the differences between the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12?

Both versions of Apple’s flagship phone benefit from 5G support, blazing A14 Bionic processors, and gorgeous OLED displays. But there are lots of key differences to discuss, especially when it comes to price.

Choosing between the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro is a choice between four phones. Apple’s iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini make up the lower end, with somewhat affordable prices and vibrant color options. Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max have more advanced cameras, bigger display options, and unique color schemes.

The iPhone 12 comes in two sizes: the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini and the 6.1-inch iPhone 12. The iiPhone 12 Pro features a 6.1-inch display, while the iiPhone 12 Pro Max is a fairly huge 6.7 inches. As far as differences go, the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 have aluminum and glass designs, while Apple continues to reserve the stainless-steel body for the iPhone 12 Pro phones.

The iiPhone 12 and iiPhone 12 Pro both feature 6.1-inch, 2532 x 1170 displays, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max has the biggest iiPhone display yet at a massive 6.7 inches and 2778 x 1284 resolution. Every new iPhone display is OLED, featuring Apple’s Super Retina XDR technology. Every new iPhone 12 model supports 5G speeds. Better yet, they all support both sub-6 GHz and mmWave frequencies, meaning you’ll be equipped for the fastest 5G experiences no matter where you are. Every iPhone 12 also benefits from Smart Data Mode, which can automatically adapt between 4G and 5G based on your location to save you data and power.

Should I buy the iPhone 12 Pro or the iPhone 12 Pro Max?

Design: iPhone 12 Pro: 146.7mm x 71.5mm x 7.4mm, 187g, IP68 water and dust resistance up to 6 meters. iPhone 12 Pro Max: 160.8mm x 78.1mm x 7.4mm, 228 grams, IP68 water and dust resistance up to 6 meters

The bigger size might not be an issue for many, but the additional weight could be a problem since, at 228 grams, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is definitely on the heavier side.

Display: iiPhone 12 Pro Max: 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display, OLED, 2778 x 1284 pixels resolution, 458 PPI, 800 nits typical brightness, 1200 nits peak brightness, wide color display, HDR, Ceramic Shield protection

iPhone 12 Pro: 6.1-inch, Super Retina XDR display, 2532 x 1170 pixels (460 PPI), 800 nits brightness, Haptic Touch, True Tone, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and Ceramic Shield protection. The bigger size of the iiPhone 12 Pro Max means that it also comes with a bigger Super Retina XDR display.

Camera: iiPhone 12 Pro Max: 12MP primary + 12MP telephoto + 12MP ultra-wide + 3D ToF LiDAR Scanner, 4K60FPS video recording with Dolby Vision, Brighter True Tone Flash, Night Mode, Deep Fusion, Dolby Vision with HDR recording, Night Mode Time-lapse, ProRAW support, LiDAR sensor. iiPhone 12 Pro: Triple 12MP cameras f/1.6 aperture for the primary camera, Focus Pixels, OIS; 12MP telephoto camera, OIS; 12MP ultrawide camera, 120-degree FoV, Portrait mode with advanced bokeh and Depth control, Brighter True Tone Flash, Night Mode, Deep Fusion, Dolby Vision with HDR recording, Night mode Time-lapse, ProRAW support, LiDAR sensor

If you care about camera performance, the iiPhone 12 Pro Max is the one you need. The primary camera resolution of the iiPhone 12 Pro and the iiPhone 12 Pro Max is the same at 12 MP. However, the iiPhone 12 Pro Max has a 47% larger camera sensor and bigger 1.7um pixels, which should allow it to offer better dynamic range and low-light performance.

How long can we use an iPhone 12 Pro Max?

The iPhone 12 Pro Max came out in 2020. On average, an iPhone gets up to 5 years of official software updates from Apple. In real-world usage, your iPhone battery will degrade to 80% health in about 2–3 years. This will result in some overheating and performance problems, but a battery change will fix that. After battery replacement, your iPhone can be used for 2 more years, which is 5 years of its lifespan. And even after getting outdated, iPhones are still usable for up to a year before apps get software outdated. So on paper, the iPhone 12 Pro Max can go on for a solid 6. years with just a ₹10,000 investment in battery replacement and back glass replacement if you accidentally break it That is an inexpensive repair of ₹5–7,000 if done by a third-party repairer.

What is the difference between an iPhone 12 Pro and an iPhone 12 Pro Max?

Ever since the launch, this has been a common question among potential buyers. However, there isn’t much difference between the iPhone 12 Pro and the 12 Pro Max.

The list includes:

  • Price: The first difference we can notice is the price gap.
    • iPhone 12 Pro starts at $999
    • iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at $1,099
  • Display:
    • iPhone 12 Pro features a 6.1-inch OLED screen with 2532 x 1170 resolution
    • The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a bigger 6.7-inch OLED screen that features a 2778 x 1284 resolution.
  • Front Camera:
    • iPhone 12 Pro comes with a 2x optical/10x digital camera
    • The iPhone 12 Pro Max variant comes with a 2.5x optical and 12x digital zoom camera.
  • Rear Camera: While most of the specs remain similar, there’s a minor difference in the telephoto lens’s aperture on both devices.
    • f/2.0 on the iPhone 12 Pro.
    • f/2.2 in 12 Pro Max.
  • Battery Life: This is one of the essential differences.
    • The iPhone 12 Pro delivers up to 9 hours and 6 minutes of battery life.
    • The iPhone 12 Pro Max model offers a battery life of 10 hours and 53 minutes, as tested and reported by Tom’s Guide.
  • Model Size: This one’s pretty obvious with the change in display size.
    • The iPhone 12 Pro measures 5.78 x 2.82 x 0.29 inches (LxBxH).
    • The iPhone 12 Pro Max measures slightly higher at 6.33 x 3.07 x 0.29 inches (LxBxH).
  • Weight: Another noticeable difference is in weight.
    • iPhone 12 Pro device weighs 6.66 ounces (188.80 g)
    • The iPhone 12 Pro Max weighs 8.03 ounces (227.65 g).

That’s all!!

What is the price of the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro? Which is better between them?

Apple has added some much-loved things to the regular 12, narrowing the gap with the 12Pro.

  1. 2532×1170 OLED screen (same as the Pro model)
  2. New ultrawide lens (same as Pro)
  3. 5G

Only some things are exclusive to Pro, like the telephoto lens, the LIDAR sensor, and the 128GB base. But guess what? Even if you upgrade to the 128GB model, it’s cheaper than the Pro. I can already see the 12 hugely cannibalizing 12Pro sales: All the things that matter to most people are the same—display, battery life, SoC, primary, and UW camera.

With the iPhone 12 starting at ₹79,990 and the 12Pro starting at ₹119,990, it’s clear that with such similar specifications, the obvious choice between the two will be the 12. A lot of telephoto functions can be mimicked by software, and DolbyVision 60FPS is great, but not enough to justify the ₹40,000 difference. In that amount of price difference itself, you can get great phones in the Android space.

I don’t see many people going for the 12Pro just for telephoto and DV60 recording. 12 is the better phone this time around.

At least until you’re a YouTuber and intend to replace your vlogging rig with your primary phone.

Which one is a better buy, an iPhone 12, 12 Pro, or 12 Pro Max?

This will depend a bit on what your needs are. If you can live with 64 GB of RAM and you do not care so much about the improved cameras and LIDAR sensors in the Pro and Pro Max, you should seriously consider the base model, which is very much the same as the Pros.

The Pros can record video at 60 fps vs. 30 fps. Does this matter to you?

The Pros have brighter displays for normal content, but the 12 can still display HDR content at the same brightness. Maybe this feature is not that big of a deal, especially considering the base model is bright enough to begin with.

The LIDAR sensor not only improves the accuracy and speed of auto-focusing, but it also allows you to accurately measure and scan 3D objects, which could be very useful in AR applications and some vertical applications. You’ll need a pro if this is important to you.

The Pros also have a telephoto lens, with the Pro Max having a telephoto lens that is still better than the Pro. It also has better image stabilization. Not available in the 12 is the ability to shoot in Night Mode and Portrait Mode simultaneously, while the Pros do support that. This may matter to you.

The base model 12 is lighter.

The 12 should have a little better battery life than the 12 Pro, but not the Pro Max.

The color selection for the base model 12 is different. If you prefer one of the more colorful choices, that could be a factor.

So, if any of the above-mentioned benefits of the Pro models do not sound like anything you care much about, yes, the base model 12 is a better value. I recommend paying the $50 additional price for going to 128GB from 64GB.

Is the iPhone 12 Pro Max better than the 11?

The iiPhone 12 Pro Max and iiPhone 11 are both powerful smartphones, but the “better” option depends on your specific needs and preferences. Here are some key points to consider:

  1. Design and Display:
  • The iPhone 12 Pro Max features a Ceramic Shield front cover, which Apple claims is tougher than the glass used in previous models, including the iPhone 11.
  • The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a Super Retina XDR display with HDR support, offering better contrast and colors compared to the iPhone 11.
  1. Performance:
  • The iPhone 12 Pro Max is equipped with a more advanced A14 Bionic chip, which is faster and more power-efficient than the A13 Bionic chip in the iPhone 11.
  1. 5G Connectivity:
  • The iPhone 12 Pro Max supports 5G connectivity, providing faster download and upload speeds compared to the iPhone 11, which is limited to 4G LTE.
  1. Camera System:
  • The iPhone 12 Pro Max has an improved camera system with larger sensor sizes, allowing for better low-light performance.
  • Both phones have multiple camera lenses, but the iPhone 12 Pro Max offers some additional features, such as the LiDAR scanner for improved AR capabilities.
  1. MagSafe Technology:
  • The iPhone 12 Pro Max supports MagSafe technology, enabling the attachment of MagSafe accessories like chargers and cases with magnets.
  1. Price:
  • Generally, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is more expensive than the iPhone 11 due to its newer features and technologies.

Consider your priorities in terms of camera quality, performance, 5G capability, and budget when deciding between the two models. If you don’t require the latest features and want a more budget-friendly option, the iPhone 11 could still be a solid choice. If you prioritize the latest technology and improved performance, the iiPhone 12 Pro Max may be the better option for you.

Which iPhone series is the best?

Determining the “best” iPhone series depends on individual preferences, needs, and budget. Each iPhone series tends to bring improvements in performance, camera capabilities, design, and features. Here are some key iPhone series as of my last knowledge update in January 2022:

  1. iPhone SE (2nd generation):
  • Best for those on a budget.
  • Offers a compact size with a design reminiscent of older iPhone models.
  • Powered by the A13 Bionic chip, the same chip found in the iPhone 11 series.
  1. iPhone 13 series (including iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max):
  • Offers the latest technology as of my last update.
  • Improved camera systems, display technology, and performance.
  • Different models cater to different needs and preferences.
  1. iPhone 12 series (including iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max):
  • Introduced 5G connectivity to the iPhone lineup.
  • Features the A14 Bionic chip.
  • Pro models include LiDAR scanners for enhanced AR capabilities.
  1. iPhone 11 series (including iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max):
  • Represents a good balance of performance and features.
  • Generally more affordable compared to newer models.
  1. iPhone XR and iPhone XS series:
  • Offered a balance between performance and price when released.
  • Features may be slightly outdated compared to the latest models.

When determining the best iPhone series for you, consider factors such as your budget, desired features, camera preferences, and the importance of having the latest technology. Newer models generally offer improvements, but older models might still be suitable for those with specific needs or budget constraints. Additionally, Apple continues to release new iPhone models regularly, so there may be newer series available at the time you’re considering a purchase.

Is the iPhone 12 Pro Max good enough?

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is a high-end and powerful smartphone, offering a range of features that make it suitable for a wide range of users. However, whether it’s “good enough” depends on your specific needs and preferences. Here are some key aspects to consider:

  1. Performance: The iPhone 12 Pro Max is equipped with the A14 Bionic chip, providing excellent performance for various tasks, including gaming, multitasking, and running demanding applications.
  2. Camera System: The Pro Max model features a sophisticated camera system with multiple lenses, including a LiDAR scanner for improved augmented reality (AR) experiences. It excels in photography and videography, especially in low-light conditions.
  3. 5G Connectivity: If you are in an area with 5G coverage, the iPhone 12 Pro Max supports 5G, offering faster download and upload speeds compared to 4G LTE.
  4. Design and Display: The device features a premium design with a ceramic shield front cover and a large Super Retina XDR display, providing vibrant colors and HDR support.
  5. MagSafe Technology: The iPhone 12 Pro Max supports MagSafe, allowing you to attach MagSafe accessories like chargers and cases magnetically.
  6. Size: The Pro Max model has a larger display compared to other iPhone 12 models, which can be a pro or con depending on your preference for a larger screen.

Consider your priorities and usage patterns when evaluating whether the iiPhone 12 Pro Max is “good enough” for you. If you prioritize the latest technology, high-end camera capabilities, and premium design, it can be an excellent choice. However, if you have a more limited budget or don’t require the latest features, you might also consider other iPhone models that meet your specific needs. Additionally, as technology evolves, newer iPhone models may have been released since my last update, so it’s worth checking for the latest options at the time of your purchase.

Which iPhone is No. 1?

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, it’s important to note that there isn’t a universally agreed-upon “number one” iPhone model, as preferences vary among users and the “best” iPhone depends on individual needs and priorities. Apple releases new iPhone models regularly, and the latest models often feature improvements in performance, camera capabilities, and other aspects.

If you are referring to the most recent iPhone models available around my last update, the iPhone 13 series (including the iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max) was the latest release. These models offered the latest technology, improved camera systems, and other enhancements.

However, keep in mind that new iPhone models are typically released each year, so it’s advisable to check for the latest information and reviews to determine which iPhone is considered the best at the current time. Visit Apple’s official website or consult reputable sources for the most up-to-date information on available iPhone models.

Is the iPhone 12 Pro Max 5G?

Yes, the iiPhone 12 Pro Max supports 5G connectivity. The entire iiPhone 12 lineup, including the iiPhone 12, iiPhone 12 mini, iiPhone 12 Pro, and iiPhone 12 Pro Max, introduced 5G capabilities. The inclusion of 5G support allows these devices to take advantage of faster data speeds when connected to a 5G network.

It’s important to note that the availability of 5G networks varies by region, and the speed and performance of 5G connectivity can depend on factors such as network infrastructure and your specific location. If you are in an area with 5G coverage, the iiPhone 12 Pro Max can deliver faster download and upload speeds compared to 4G LTE.
