A slat is a stone slab usually used as a veneer for masonry.

Please don’t ask me what that means because I have no idea. 😀

Why do people put their fingers under their noses? Is it a gang sign?
If it is, this goes a long way to explaining why I get involved in a drive-by shooting every time I have hay fever.
No. It is a psychological fact of life that drives you crazy when you first become aware of it. I will tell you anyway because it’s so interesting, and sometimes you may find this little tidbit helpful.
If you pay attention, you’ll see that whenever someone you’re talking to or someone you see on TV who is talking to someone else scratches their nose; it usually means they’ve mentioned or thought of something negative about the person or subject that was brought up. Sounds fantastic, and you’ll wonder why you never noticed it before, but watch a TV talk show, and you’ll see what I mean. People with sufficiently advanced social skills (TV interviewers, employer supervisors, psychologists, etc.) have learned this fact and deliberately suppressed the urge to do it. Now that you know, you’ll be amazed at yourself when you notice the tingling and urge to wipe beneath your nose at negative things or when something you don’t like is mentioned. It’s as though you’re attempting to wipe away a bad smell from the room. (Psychologists will hate me for spilling the beans about this secret.) Don’t take my word for it. Observe it for yourself.
Why do people put their fingers under their noses? Is it a gang sign?
Yes, a member of Bloods Gangs, putting a finger under their nose could mean,” I don’t trust you.”
For the past year, federal prosecutors in Maryland have pursued a case against 35 alleged members of a Bloods group known as the South Side Brims. Recently filed court documents describe how the tightly organized gang operated, detailing a system of ranks, hand gestures, and cultural lore — details that would otherwise be difficult to obtain without sustained access to the group.
I’ve known a few who do it for stress relief. This helps them when they are nervous. I’ve seen a couple of nurses do it when looking things up on the (standing) computer. I inquired if it was comforting somehow and got a yes; it helps to think. A close friend who had had a horrible tragedy in her childhood had a habit of wrapping her left arm around the front of her face and smelling inside her elbow. She’d support that arm with the other and sit there listening, otherwise relaxed. She explained it helped get her through as a seven-year-old, self-comforting that had happened automatically and stuck around. She didn’t do it much publicly. But the public needed to learn her story. I did. I thought nothing of it…made sense.
What does success mean to you?
I had three guys in my branch.
All three were good friends of mine.
I have seen them attending classes and going on trips and outings.

For them, every night used to be a typical boy’s hostel night at engineering college.
Trust me! No deadly subject and any End semester datasheet could stir fear of exams in them.
No matter how close the deadlines of projects were and how seriously the professor took the viva, they had their nerves controlled.

And the story doesn’t have a twist that they all were scholars or branch toppers.
No! Rather, they all had below-average GPAs.
Three years of engineering have passed, and it was a beautiful placement season.
Many companies came and went. They even made it to the final round of interviews, but sadly, none could clear them.
More than 80% of the batch got placed, and people worse than their academics got decent jobs.
But their names were nowhere on the list.
It happened; our friend got them referred to a tech company where she did her internship, and by God’s grace, they all got into it.
The salary was low, but they all did a tremendous job in that company.
And now, when one year has passed.
They have left such a great impression with their work that they returned to college not to get interviewed but to hire juniors for their company.
Those guys who couldn’t clear any interview last year were sitting on the other side of the table.
And it was just one year.

Lessons from their life: You can outshine them no matter where you start and how life has treated you.
What is life for you?
I think this one is enough

What is life for you currently?
Life, for me, is the canvas to create anything I want.
I am an engineer, a girl, an introvert, and a voracious reader!
My idea of life is living it and not surviving it. Like most people, I am lazy, and conversations sound better in my head. I have failed a lot, but I decided to rise and shine. My idea of fun is not socializing but reading or eating.
My life is imperfect, but I have faith; it keeps me going and sustains me through the nights.
Many companies have rejected me and from the last recruitment rounds. I analyzed it but have yet to get an answer. All my trainers and friends said I was perfect, and there was no way they felt I could be rejected, but it happened.
After graduation, every friend I had ever known was settled and had a motive in life, but for me, I was coming home to uncertainty. I’m curious about it. I had no purpose, and it was a depressing phase. My father advised me to give myself a free fall, the benefit of the doubt, to realize what I want. He said money is never the ultimate solution; it helps you but should never be your goal. So jobs and earning money should never be the utmost priority in life, but before that, you should increase yourself in depth and reach out for knowledge. Knowledge should be the priority because there is more to life than paying bills and dying; it’s learning, exploring, and becoming someone who defines you. Deep inside, we are all astronauts, painters, poets, and writers waiting for redemption.
So, my dear friend, life is what you make of it. Today, I may not be a software engineer in a regular 9-5 job, but tomorrow, you might see me as the person who will change the country. Give life the gift of faith, which will never disappoint you in the long run.
.
In your own words, what is the meaning of life?
There is no meaning to life.
Few say you should constantly improve yourself.
Few say you should be happy with what you have.
Few say you should discard all the luxuries of life and live a simpler life.
Few say live life in whatever way you want.
All the above predicates are contradictory to each other. So what should we do?
How should we spend our life?
People say you should live a good life.
But what is good or bad, how should we decide? That is a big question.
Spending all life abiding by rules and following whatever people say will be monotonous.
What is the meaning of life?
Let me tell you what I believe in by telling a story. A story of my life.
I was born into a low-income family; my parents were not educated. But they had decided to provide the best possible education for me. And they did, so they spent all their life for my sake. That was the meaning of their life.
What does “slatt” mean?
I grew up thinking that you should study hard and never do anything bad, as taught by my parents.
Then, as I understood the reality of life, I slowly realized that there is nothing as good or bad. Our perspective decides and judges everything.
Then, I decided to do whatever came to my mind. Enjoy everything there is to experience. All that matters is to experience life and enjoy it to the fullest.
If you want to try something, then do it. Never resist yourself.
Don’t try to control every aspect of life; let go of it.
Rather than trying to win an argument with someone or trying to impress someone, try to be satisfied.
There is too much beauty in this life; embrace it.
Do something for yourself without thinking about what other people will think.
There is not a single person in the history of all time who was not criticized.
Yet, we remember so many great people. Do you know why? Because they never cared to be remembered; they just did what they wanted to do.
Let go of everything and dive into life. And see where it takes you.
Just live, breathe, and embrace this world.
My philosophy of life is to experience everything without having any regrets. And even if you do, it is better to regret after doing something than to regret not doing anything.
Cheers!
What exactly is the essence of meditation?
Realizing you are not your mind. That’s it.
Imagine the freedom, the immense release & relief when you realize (direct experience, not intellectually) that You are not all those thoughts, commands, judgments, and noise running through your mind, not that nagging, narrating, psychologically assessing voice in your head.
You are the Awareness of that voice and all thoughts.
And since You are only Awareness, which has no thoughts, just being & observation, the true You is always still, silent, and resting in a peace that passeth all understanding, pure bliss.
Watching all that noise.
While knowing It is not that noise.
Imagine the freedom! Even if you never ‘progress’ any further (to samadhi, self-realization, ‘enlightenment,’ whatever)
Now stop imagining and sit in silence. For a while. Nothing needs your attention right now.
Notice all those thoughts running through your head. Now, something is noticing the thoughts and noise but is not Itself a thought. It’s only watching dispassionately. That’s all It can do because It’s just Is-ness. It has no thoughts or judgments as a part of It, so it cannot think, judge, worry about what It’s observing, or want anything to change. Just watching. In total peace. That’s Who You Are.
That is exactly the essence of meditation.
What is the best definition of God?
In the Vedas, it is said, para sea saktir vividhaiva suite: “The varieties of energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead are differently known.” So, let’s look at some of those varieties.
First, God is the personal aspect of The Absolute Truth, which encompasses the Supreme Controller, the living entities, the spiritual and material universes, time, and activity.
He is the original cause of all causes, an undifferentiated entity, as there is no distinction between potency and the possessor thereof. He is the absolute substantive principle, being the ultimate entity in the form of supporting all existence, both natural and supernatural.
By necessity, He is the origin, reservoir, and possessor to an unlimited degree: Beauty. Knowledge. Wealth. Fame. Power. Renunciation.
From the personification of the Absolute Truth are manifest multifarious potencies, too many to list here, but the first group can be broken into three separate categories.
The hlādinī-śakti, or pleasure potency,
The sandhinī-śakti, or existential potency,
The samvit-śakti, or cognitive potency.
In short, they are termed sat – cit –-citananda. Eternity, knowledge, and bliss.
Although Sri Krishna is one without a second, His multiple forms correspond to the degree and variety of His subjective manifestations. The subjective entity of Sri Krishna does not transform. His different forms are, therefore, aspects of the one form manifesting Themselves to the different aptitudes of His devotees.
What does “slatt” mean?
The power of Sri Krishna is transformable by His will. These transformations of power, in the cases of the antaranga and Natasha Shaktis, are eternal processes. In the case of the Bahiranga Shakti, power transformations are temporary manifestations. The phenomenal world is the product of the external power of Sri Krishna. The Absolute Realm is the transformation of the internal power. Individual souls are the transformations of marginal power.
I will elaborate on these three potencies/powers to clarify the differences.
Antaranga-shakti
Antaranga is that which pertains to the proper entity of the Absolute Person. It is also called Swarupa-shakti for this reason. The word antaranga literally means “that which belongs to the inner body.” Shakti is rendered as “power.”
Tatastha-shakti
Tatastha means that which is on the borderline between land and water. This intermediate power does not belong to any definable region of the person of Sri Krishna. It manifests itself on the borderline between the absolute’s inner and outer body. It constitutes all the marginal living entities that may or may not be under the control of the Lord’s illusory potency, Mahamaya.
Bahiranga-shakti
The power that manifests itself on the outer body is bahiranga-shakti.
Because there is no quality distinction between the body and entity of the absolute person – God – the distinctions between the inner, outer, and marginal positions of His body are in terms of the realization of the individual soul. Through the agency of the three modes of nature plus time, the Supreme Lord creates, regulates, maintains, and destroys all activity of material nature.
The Supreme Lord manifests in His different avatars within the material universe.
(1) the purusa-avatara,
(2) the lila-avatara,
(3) the guna-avatara,
(4) the manvantara-avatara,
(5) the yuga-avatara,
(6) the Saktyavesa-avatara.
He is also in His unmanifest form as Paramatma, who resides within the atoms and the heart of all living entities. Leaving aside the entire material creation and the varieties of different manifest energies that modern science is gradually discovering and documenting, we should understand that God appeared personally in this material world in five different features 530 years ago. The Pancatattva manifest in Sridham Mayapur for the improvement of those interested. Panch means five, and tattva means truth. So, the manifestation of Sri Pancatattva was to exhibit the five truths of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
What does “slatt” mean?
In his Anubhasya commentary, Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura describes the Panca-tattva as follows:
The supreme energetic personality of the Godhead, manifesting in five kinds of pastimes, appears as the Panca-tattva. They are similar because they are situated on the absolute platform. Still, they manifest different spiritual varieties as a challenge for impersonalists to taste different spiritual humor (races).
From this statement of the Vedas, one can understand that there are eternal varieties of rasas, or tastes, in the spiritual world. Sri Gauranga, Sri Nityananda, Sri Advaita, Sri Gadadhara, and Srivasa are all on the same platform, but in spiritually distinguishing between them, one should understand that:
Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the form of a devotee,
Nityananda Prabhu appears in the form of a devotee’s spiritual master,
Advaita Prabhu is the form of a devotee incarnation,
Gadadhara Prabhu is the energy of a devotee,
Srivasa is a pure devotee.
Thus, there are spiritual distinctions between them. The bhakta-rupa (Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu), the bhakta-svarupa (Sri Nityananda Prabhu), and the bhakta-avatara (Sri Advaita Prabhu) are described as the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself, His immediate manifestation and His plenary expansion, and They all belong to the Visnu Tattva category.
Although the spiritual and marginal energies of the Supreme Personality of Godhead are non-different from those of Godhead Visnu, they are predominated subjects, whereas Lord Visnu is the predominant. Although they are on the same platform, they have appeared differently to facilitate the tasting of transcendental mellows. However, one cannot be different from the other, for the worshiper and the worshipable cannot be separated at any stage. On the absolute platform, one cannot be understood without the other.
What does “slatt” mean?
Sri Nityananda Prabhu is the immediate expansion of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu as His brother. He is the personified spiritual bliss of sac-cid-ananda-vigraha. His body is ethereal and full of ecstasy in devotional service.
Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is therefore called bhakta-rupa
Sri Nityananda Prabhu is called bhakta-svarupa
Sri Advaita Prabhu, the incarnation of a devotee, is Vishnu-tattva and belongs to the same category.
There are also different types of bhaktas, or devotees, on the platforms of:
Neutrality. Servitude. Friendship. Parenthood. Conjugal love.
Devotees like Sri Damodara Swarupa, Sri Gadadhara, and Sri Ramananda Raya have different energies. This again confirms the Vedic sutra parasya saktir vividhaiva suite: “The varieties of energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead are differently known.”
All these bhakta subjects taken together constitute Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Krsna Himself, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, or God for short.
Because this condensed definition of God is largely incomprehensible to the average man or woman, it is seldom presented. Instead, “A loving father who created everything and reaches out to individuals through His representative” is more popular and is enough for a person with unshakable faith, a connection with a genuine representative, and sincere determination to abide by the spirit of the representative’s instructions.
What, exactly, is socialism?
Socialism: Socialism is a political and economic ideology that aims to create a society where wealth and resources are distributed more equally among all people. Socialists believe that the means of production should be owned collectively rather than by individual capitalists and that everyone should share the profits from these means of production.
The state’s role in a socialist society is to ensure that the needs of all people are met and to regulate the economy to prevent exploitation.

How would you explain life?
I will be turning 20 at the end of the year. And yes, many people think I might not know what life is in this short span. But many incidents happen in a person’s life, and some might change the person entirely.
I never knew what kind of a person I was or what kind of friends I should be making; I never had any hobbies ( I don’t have any now). This was 15-year-old me. I was clueless. But I was happy; I studied hard, scored good marks, and made my parents happy. Nothing else mattered. But I fainted just one day, and these fainting sessions happened many times. My teachers didn’t want me to attend school as I had regular episodes of fainting and breathlessness. Everyone suggested to my parents that for some time, I should take a break, visit doctors, and take time to heal. Even now, I don’t know what happened to me. Those were the dark days of my life. I used to cry every night when I could not move and breathe, and my voice would be stuck in my throat. I was so tired of my suffering that I asked my mother one day.
What does “slatt” mean?
“Mommy, why won’t god just kill me instead of torturing me every day?” to which she replied
“Beta( my child), God is testing you; he is taking your exam, and you always pass your exams with good marks, and I am sure you are strong enough to pass this one as well, and you know God always takes exam of those whom he thinks as worthy of it. And sometimes to make us strong.”
I wasn’t much convinced, but I had my savior with me. I took so many medicines, but this painting will always be there. Somehow, I met a great doctor, and his medicines were effective, and I became stable within a month. I skipped 3–4 months of my school and tuition, and everyone was unsure whether I would pass 9th as I couldn’t appear for half-yearly exams ( which have the maximum weightage apart from final exams). I reappeared for the exams and passed with good enough marks.
The lesson I learned:
1. Life is too short, so live it to the fullest.
2. Love yourself and everyone.
3. Don’t be too quick to judge someone.
4. There will always be ups and downs in life, and that’s what makes our life more interesting
5. The past is in the past; move on and forgive those who had hurt you because you will gain nothing by having a grudge against them.
P.S. I had to cut down my long hair during the treatment, and since then, I have always liked short hair.
Why do rappers hold their index fingers against their upper lip and nose when performing?
In my experience, rappers hold their index fingers against their upper lip and nose while performing to keep the mic steady in front of their mouth. The microphones at performance venues are usually directional, and when you’re feeling the energy from the crowd and the song, it can be very easy not to keep the mic in front of your mouth. That’s what happened to me at my first performance in 2014. I was feeling the energy, moving to the music, and thinking I had the crowd rocking until I walked off stage and discovered that no one in the back of the venue could hear what I was rapping during my set. Lesson learned? Hold that mic like the pros do- index finger against the upper lip and nose.

What is the real meaning of friendship?
Let’s say you have two close “friends.” You hang out together at parties and go out together all the time. However, when you need help caring for your kid, one of them charges you $15/hour to watch him. When you need to be picked up from the airport, another one (who lives 10 minutes away) promises to get you but texts at the last moment that she cannot.
It’s now 11 p.m., and you are stranded at the airport. So, you call your third friend. The one you don’t hang out with too often, but he always bails you out. He jumps in his car and drives for 40 minutes to the airport to get you. He is the only one who is your actual friend.
What are your thoughts on the Korean band BTS?
Let’s face it: most, if not all of us, have gone through that “I’m obsessed with BTS; they are my ult group” phase, and it’s not a bad thing. At some point, we got interested in another/other K-pop group(s) and kind of “lost interest,” if I dare say, in BTS or the armies as a whole. For the majority, they won’t stay your ults for that long.
However, once you listen and watch their performances again, you’ll be hit by a bang load of nostalgia for your good old days when you didn’t know much about the K-pop industry and how toxic it can be when you weren’t as self-conscious of your body. When all you did was obliviously listen and watch BTS. When you watched BTS James Corden over and over again.
BTS was our emotional support; they lifted our spirits and cheered us up when we were feeling down and gave
This is why BTS is so special and captures people’s attention worldwide. They can make people feel welcome and as if they’re home and comforted. BTS love their fans, making them feel loved to the point where most of the fanbase turns to them in times of loneliness and emptiness.
Our Bangtan boys are extremely hardworking and built a fanbase this big(and still growing)by starting from an almost bankrupt company to one of the biggest entertainment companies in Korea. BTS’s rap line is amazing and one of the best; their dance line is stronger than the average group, and their vocalists may not be the best, but they have unique tones and have been improving.
Wow, my first real answer!!! I am still working on using better words and making them flow easily. I have a Bangtan.

Is ‘manifestation’ a real thing?
Is “manifestation” a real thing?
Yes and no.
Yes, because your life expresses who you are; therefore, you manifest it. No, because who you are is not your thoughts and wishes.
The idea that if you think about something hard enough, something will drop from the sky right into your lap is a gross oversimplification of how reality works.
What you put into your lap expresses you, your identity, and your fundamental beliefs of who and what you are.
For example, a person who has been abused and traumatized in childhood might develop a belief that people in general are dangerous and scary and that she is unwanted, unlovable, and unimportant to anyone.
What does “slatt” mean?
A child who believes this will organize her life a certain way. She will avoid people; she will avoid relationships. Therefore, she will develop all sorts of ways of living on her own, taking care of herself, and fulfilling her own needs. Those ways will become who she is. She will develop preferences for being secluded, quiet, and alone. She will develop several beliefs about other people that stem from and support her distrust of others. Her relationships will likely be brief, rare, and painful, thus confirming that all her beliefs about others and herself are true.
When this child grows up and becomes a woman, her entire identity will be constructed based on and around her mistrust of people. Who she is, how she relates, how she sees others, herself, the world, and life will be based on and created around those two fundamental beliefs: people are scary, and I am unlovable.
In this sense, this woman will have manifested her life. She will have created beliefs that then shape her life accordingly. She will see she is alone, can’t hold onto a relationship, and feels scared, anxious, and uncomfortable with others. All this will confirm what she believes is true: people are scary, and she is unlovable.
If this woman feels lonely and decides she wants a family, a husband, or children, she will not be able to “attract” all that simply by wishing hard, repeating something nice, or making a vision board. She cannot click her heels three times and have the universe hand over a husband.
If this woman happens to be lonely and if she decides that she wants a family, a husband, or children, she’d have to go back to her childhood, heal the trauma she experienced, revisit all the beliefs about people, herself, life, that she’s created based on this trauma, revisit and reorganize the entire structure that is “herself” and shift the whole deal towards being open and receptive to connect deeply and intimately with another human.
This can be done, but it is one hell of a task. It requires deep, deep, relentless awareness of oneself. It requires the courage to face pain and suffering that was kept hidden for most of one’s lifetime, and it requires a complete reorganization of who one thought one was; it requires the willingness to question every decision, every choice, every step one took in life.
This is hard, hard work. But it is possible and, when done, when who one is changes – what one expresses as one’s life also changes. In this way, yes, “manifestation” is a real thing.

What does the “flow” mean in a rap song?
Originally Answered: What is the “flow” means in rap song?
The flow of a phrase refers to its ‘capability’ – that is, how well it can be rapped. This usually refers to the rhythmic and aural qualities of the phrase, but a flow can sometimes refer to punchlines as well. Let’s take this example from Eminem’s Lose Yourself.
His palms are sweaty, his knees weak, and his arms are heavy
There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti
He’s nervous, but on the surface, he looks calm and ready to drop bombs,
But he keeps forgetting what he wrote down,
The whole crowd goes so loud
He opens his mouth, but the words won’t come out
He’s choking; everybody’s joking now
The clock’s run out; time’s up, over, below!
Notice the repetition of the sounds, notably ‘a’, ‘e,’ and ‘o’. The consonants add an aggressive, percussive feel to the verse. One of the greatest examples of internal rhyming in a rap verse in history. Now, let’s look at a bad flow.
